Capital Punishment – deserved in some cases?

I am not in favor of capital punishment, this being a relatively new position for me. I am and have been opposed to abortion, and I can not therefore justify a belief in capital punishment. However, some people are just so evil, it seem they don’t deserve to live. Recently in Polk County, Florida, a man named Davis went to a convenient store with the intention of robbing it. He was carrying a gun, but the door was locked and he couldn’t get in. Two employees of the store were outside changing the sign. Davis walked up to them, forced them to their knees and executed them with bullets to the back of the head.

One week later, Davis entered the insurance office where he had done business, and tried to rob the office. The two young ladies in the office refused to give him money, so he doused them with gasoline and set them afire. One of the young ladies was pregnant. Both subsequently died, as did the unborn child of the one lady.

Davis is now up on 5 charges of capital murder. Does he deserve to live? A cold, unrepentant murderer.
